“Big Data” is both a ubiquitous and vague term, summarizing problems of data collection, evaluation, storage and transmission for numerous technical, economic and medical applications. New developments emerge in the area of Big Data Analysis, for the most part in combination with application problems with modern mathematical methods of signal and image processing. This workshop focuses on mathematical methods of data analysis of complex structures: forecast models for technical and economic processes, hyperspectral data, and microstructures. It is the goal of this workshop to enhance communication between industry and academia with regards to the complex topic of “Big Data”, to determine new challenges and discuss developments, as well as to devise solution strategies for current problems. The workshop will be solely held in German.
